Mint Julep
Ingredients :
2 oz (60 ml) bourbon
½ oz (15 ml) cane syrup
12 fresh mint leaves
1 dash (optional) of angostura bitters
Mint and powdered sugar (for garnish)
Preparation :
Place the mint leaves in the bottom of a Julep glass.
Crush them gently with the syrup, taking care not to tear them.
Add bourbon and fill with crushed ice.
Garnish with fresh mint sprinkled with powdered sugar through a strainer.
Eat through a straw.
About our Mint Julep
An emblematic drink of the southern United States, the Mint Julep has also been the signature cocktail of the Kentucky Derby since 1938. It is traditionally served in a silver tumbler, allowing frost to form on the outer walls. Make way for refreshment!
